Introduction

Hiro Tales is an AI-first mobile application that transforms storytelling into a personalized educational and therapeutic experience. I was responsible for designing the entire product architecture, AI interaction model, user experience, interface, and content generation mechanics. By combining developmental psychology, cognitive design, and generative AI, I created a platform where every story becomes unique, emotionally meaningful, and tailored to the individual child.

I designed an AI-native storytelling ecosystem where psychology, personalization, and generative AI work together to create emotionally intelligent stories that help children learn, grow, and better understand the world around them.

Instead of asking children to adapt to stories, I designed an AI system that adapts every story to the child. Hero Tales transforms storytelling from static content into a living, AI-driven experience that grows with every child.

Approach

Rather than designing a traditional reading application, I designed an AI-powered storytelling engine built around developmental psychology and cognitive communication models.

I developed the entire interaction architecture that allows caregivers to create highly personalized stories using only a few simple prompts. Behind this simplicity lies an advanced AI workflow that combines:

One of my key contributions was designing the UGC (User Generated Content) ecosystem, allowing caregivers to publish AI-generated stories into a shared community library while preserving the option to keep stories private.

Every story dynamically places the child at the center of the narrative, making them the main character and allowing the AI to naturally introduce educational and emotional learning through engaging adventures.

Challenge

Traditional children’s books offer static narratives that cannot adapt to a child’s unique personality, emotional challenges, or developmental stage. The challenge was to create an AI-native storytelling platform capable of generating emotionally intelligent stories that educate, support emotional development, and help caregivers address real-life situations through personalized narratives.

The system also needed to produce illustrations automatically while maintaining narrative consistency and allowing thousands of caregivers to contribute their own stories to a shared knowledge ecosystem.
