HSBC Bank

"Every component I designed became part of a global ecosystem, powering daily operations for hundreds of teams and thousands of users."

Introduction

At HSBC, I was responsible for designing components for the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) platform. In total, I created over 130 UI components, all built using the Atomic Design methodology — from atoms and molecules to organisms and complete page layouts.
In addition, I developed a comprehensive Design System for the UI layer, including grid systems, spacing rules, and visual guidelines. This ensured visual consistency and scalability across the entire AEM ecosystem within the organization.

The solutions I designed were rolled out globally across over fifty countries.

Approach

Together with the team at Foolproof agency in London, I led qualitative user research and prototype testing sessions. These sessions helped validate early design hypotheses and ensured that the components we delivered were not only scalable and reusable, but also highly intuitive and accessible.

Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with the design and UX team based in the UK, while also maintaining continuous alignment with the development team in Poland. This cross-functional collaboration ensured smooth handoffs, consistent implementation of the Design System, and rapid iteration cycles across distributed teams.

Challenge

HSBC, as a global financial institution, required a robust and scalable component system within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). The challenge was to ensure visual and functional consistency across multiple international markets, while enabling rapid content deployment through reusable UI elements.
